- Prior to the commencement of some projects, e.g. cleaning etc. dismantling works for some part should be done.
- Certified technician with direct supervision of qualified supervisor Only non-sparking tools will be utilized during dismantling works.
- In case of working inside confined space, all safety regulations will be applied and all workers will hav egas detectors in place.
- System disconnection and isolation of E&I connection will start first, disconnection will be done after checking all as-built drawing and writing all the tag numbers for cables.
- Only cold cutting technology will be applied In case of piping cutting required, which is done by qualified pipe fitter and by using cold pipes cutting machine.
1. Dismantling works
2. Rope access
- Rope access will be used for reaching difficult accessable areas.
- Qualified and trained technicians by the supervision of (IRATA Level III Supervisor) will use ropes to reach defficult access areas
- Rope access technicians descend, ascend, and traverse ropes for access and work while suspended by their harness. Sometimes a work seat may be used. The support of the rope is intended to eliminate the likelihood of a fall altogether.
- Rope access technicians use a back-up fall arrest system for the unlikely failure of their primary means of support.
3. Tube Bundle Extracting
Manual Method
- Manual Method can be used for extracting/inserting of tube bundles, this will be done by the use of cradle, overhead crane, locking boom & chain pulley blocks.
- Cradle is used to support baffles of tube bundle. After placing tube bundle on to cradle, it is lifted to desired height using overhead crane.
- At the end of tube bundle, tubes are welded to thick circular sheet called tube sheet.
- Locking boom is mounted on tube sheet so that it can serve reaction to pair of chain pulleys.
- After locating tube bundle against shell, chain pulleys on either side are pulled so that tube bundle starts inserting in to shell. The entire activity takes time of 15-16 hrs with 6 workmen needed to do this job.
Aerial Tube Bundle Method
- The Aerial Tube Bundle Extractor uses a special lifting frame, which is constructed in such a way that it has a maximum reach into the construction.
- The load is trimmed using a Aerial balancing cylinder which makes it also easy to off load the bundles when the extractor is put down on the ground.
- Due to the use of a pulling hook mechanism and 2 butt plates which are clamped against the extractor’s shell, the massive power of 60.000kgf is compensated against the shell flange and not against the structure
